- Croissants, the Seine and home for bed
The RER was easy and we were at Notre-Dame by half ten. Walked the Marais, lunch in Saint-Germain, then Montmartre for sunset before heading back. The timings in the plan were spot on.

Cheaper than a train ticket to Manchester. 8 and a half hours is plenty if you pick two areas and don’t rush. Leave the city on time, CDG security was busy.

The early start hurts, but you get a proper day in Paris. Bring comfy shoes and a power bank. Would do it again for the Christmas lights.
