One of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in the world, opened each year by the Christkind from the church balcony. Around 180 red-and-white striped stalls fill the Hauptmarkt.
Nürnberger Rostbratwurst (three in a bun), Lebkuchen gingerbread and Feuerzangenbowle.
Hauptmarkt in the old town, 15 minutes' walk from the main station.
