Getting there without a car
- Santa Claus Village is only about 10 minutes from Rovaniemi airport by bus or taxi, so you don't need a car.
- Bus 8 runs between Rovaniemi town and the village all year. In season, Santa's Express and the Airport Express link the airport, the town, the village and SantaPark.
- The Airport Express takes about 15–20 minutes into the town centre, for the Arktikum museum and the Lumberjack's Candle Bridge.
Check the Linkkari and Airport Express timetables against your flight times before you book.
Good to know
- Santa's Office can have long queues, especially in December, so allow plenty of time to meet Santa.
- Dress for real Arctic cold, often -15°C or colder in winter, with warm boots, gloves and a hat.
- Around Christmas there are only about 2–3 hours of daylight, so plan the outdoor sights for the middle of the day.
- You generally can't take your own photos or videos while you meet Santa; the official photo is paid.
- SantaPark, the Christmas cave park nearby, is seasonal. Husky farms and Northern Lights trips further out need a tour with pickup.
